You can experience great movie quality with the ultra-fast booting DMP-BD87 Full HD Blu-ray Disc player. After starting the player, the time it takes from launching the menu to playing a disc is much shorter than in conventional models. The BD97 also allows for smart home networking (DLNA) and provides access to IP VOD, a targeted internet solution that offers access to Netflix, CinemaNow, Vudu, and YouTube.

Connectivity

The BD87 is compatible with NTFS (NT File System) format external hard disk drives, so you can enjoy music (FLAC, MP3), photos (JPEG, MPO), and camcorder video content (AVCHD, MP4) archived on an external HDD. The BD87 is also DLNA-certified so it is easy to use with your home network. Share and enjoy digital photos, music, and videos by simply connecting to a home network (LAN). You can also install a special app on your smartphone and access a DLNA-certified PC via a Wi-Fi router in another room. Access, browse, and view media stored on the PC server while in another room.

Personalization

To personaliz e the home theater experience, the new multi-user mode on the BD87 allows you to register four users and each can record individual favorite settings. You can select a personal icon from 16 pre-installed images, or photos from an external source. You also have the option to customize the home screen with any image you choose.

Built in Wi-Fi

A Wi-Fi system is built right into the main unit of the BD87 so you can enjoy VIERA Connect and BD-Live content without having to connect the Blu-ray player with a LAN cable or wireless LAN adaptor. *BD87 only compatible with Netflix, CinemaNow, Vudu, and YouTube on VIERA Connect.
