9 of 11 people found the following review helpful Good product, wrong one for me., By This review is from: Evercool 5.25" Cross Flow System Fan - Revision 2 - (PCAC2) (Personal Computers) Cooler Master Centurion +Plus 534, Intel DH55HC, Intel Core i5 650 3.2, WD HDD 640x64x7200, Kingston 1333 x 6GB, LG Super Multi, clocks around 45-60 F, Bought this mostly to review the product. I know when I do some hardcore gaming, my system tends to warm up a little more than I would like, (by no fault of the hardware, btw), and I bought this as an added measure of security. Very nice concept and form factor, fits perfectly in the 5.25, though my mobo doesn't have the necessary 3 prong power port. A simple adapter fixes the problem, (). Hooked it up anyway, as a test run, and it seems to do quite well as an air-mover. This model does push air into the system from the front, causing a cross-vent, or even wind-tunnel effect in my machine. Regardless of what you may have read, it is very quiet. When my CM starts up, I have to look at the lights to be sure it's on... and this doesn't add much sound to that (none at all at low setting, and barely a hum at high, my Super-Multi spins up louder). Now to the negatives. The design has one major flaw. I have a toolless case with slide locks instead of screws. The way the fan is made, it only locks in with the forward most mount screws. This makes it impossible to secure it in a toolless case without using screws. This with the fact that I would have to buy another part to get it to run caused me to close her back up without an addition. I won't be returning the fan, as I have an MATX that desperately needs it (GPU is around 190), and I'll amend this review as further information comes available. If you don't hear back from me, all is well, no problems found. As a side note, I do custom computer designs, like the one I describe owning (I built her) and if anyone needs help or is interested, contact me. DolanT831@yahoo.com. If you are reading this, thank you Amazon for not rejecting this portion (another reason I love them). 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Specs are complete lies. Very flimsy. Very dissapointed, By This review is from: Evercool 5.25" Cross Flow System Fan - Revision 2 - (PCAC2) (Personal Computers) I bought this and it is completely useless.Barely moves any air (my estimate - does not move more than 30 CFM at top Speed) VERY noisy - clearly audible even at lowest setting with 6 other fans and the TV on. On high setting sounds like a lawn mower (my estimate - more than 40 db). Not recommended! Looks good, but performs poorly, By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Evercool 5.25" Cross Flow System Fan - Revision 2 - (PCAC2) (Personal Computers) This "EVERCOOL 5.25" drive bay air blower fan" arrived with it's squirrel cage out of socket. It easily was put back in. The thing just doesn't move much air. Turn up the speed with the knob and it gets noisy but still not much airflow. The air is supposed to enter the case with this fan.I also found on Amazon the Just Cooler ST-900 that fits in a 3.5" drive bay. This is an exhaust fan and it moves much more air than the EVERCOOL. |
