A young Frogger must journey to the center of the Temple of the Frog in order to search for the hidden secrets needed to bring his dying swampland home back to life. Jump, glide and tongue-flick through 15+ levels in 5 different environments. A cartoonish action/platform game with an element of puzzle solving, Frogger expands on simple, yet addictive gameplay to catch players of all ages.Originally released in 1981 by Konami, the Frogger arcade game is considered an all-time classic. Since then the property has been transferred to several owners, many of which tarnished the Frogger tradition. Now, back in Konami's hands, the little green fellow brings back everything people loved about the original arcade game, but with a modern twist. Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog pits Frogger against the evil Mr. D, who has stolen the mystical elements that nourish the hero's marsh. I'm sure that some more experienced gamers might find it too "simple", but if you're like me, and new to this GBA system, it offers _plenty_ of challenges, believe me. Reminds me of the games I used to play in arcades. But this Frogger is much more fun and "involved" than the old version. Frogger is always under threat of danger, but he's non-violent, choosing instead to outwit his opponents, or just avoid them altogether, as he goes about his mission (through several wonderfully imaginative, totally different "worlds") of collecting the items he'll need to save his swamp-friends back home from the Bad Guys who've come to town. Under proper lighting (a challenge in itself, with the GBA system), I was totally jazzed by the intricate graphics, and vibrant colors. I do like to turn off the "music", as I find it irritating, but the sound effects can be left on by themselves, and add to the fun. The game can be turned off anytime, and restarted later at the same point you left off, which is a nice feature, too. This game is perfect for kids or adults who are looking for a fun way to enjoy the GBA system...and help out a plucky little frog at the same time! I couldn't recommend it more highly. 45 of 48 people found the following review helpful ![]() By SeaDream91 (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog (Video Game) I'm an adult gamer who has grown up with Frogger and has really enjoyed seeing him become better and better as the years have progressed. In my opinion, this is the best Frogger yet, although I also enjoyed Frogger 2, GBC's contribution to Frogger's metamorphosis. The graphics on the GBA are far superior to GBC's and Konomi has taken advantage of this in Frogger's newest outing. If you've been a Frogger fan in the past, you will certainly appreciate his newest "look." What are you waiting for? HOP TO IT! 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Cats "Nat" (Lower Texas) - See all my reviews = Durability: ![]() ![]() ![]() This review is from: Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog (Video Game) I think this game is challangeing, I am always up for the challenge. I finished the game after playing non-stop for a week. Me being 11 years old thought the finale level was the hardest, but it can be beaten. It is the only game I have ever played that got me addicted enough to finish it. I enjoyed the game but it was also frustrateing at times. This game and donkey kong country2 are my faves. But, it is my oppinion, play it yourself to find out yours beacuse I can't tell you what to think now can I? |
