3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Works for me, By Edward Davis (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sony SANS400 HomeShare Wi-Fi Network Speaker (Black) (Electronics) I have bought two of these and I'm buying another one. They sound good for the price.I have a Sony wireless Blue-Ray player I use with it in addition to music played from various computers. I stream Pandora through the Blue-Ray player and these remote speakers work well with that system. Without the Blue-Ray player, I would not be able to stream internet music to these speakers. Music streamed from a computer must be recorded in the computer, not streamed from the internet to the computer. I didn't have much trouble with set-up except the speakers didn't work well with either of two different AT&T U-Verse routers. Once I switched to another router, I haven't had any trouble. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Most frustrating purchase ever, By Jennifer (AZ United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sony SANS400 HomeShare Wi-Fi Network Speaker (Black) (Electronics) Bought this based on an online chat I had with a Sony representative in hopes of playing content from my Sony Blu-ray player through this speaker in another room. I am pretty computer savy as is my husband but no matter how we tried we couldn't get it to play anything but content downloaded on my computer. Attempts to obtain tech support from Sony online were pitiful. They simply referred us to page numbers in the instruction booklet and never really answered any questions. Finally after many hours of frustration and threatening to throw it out the window, we hired an IT guy to come look at it who told us it couldn't do what we wanted it to do. I requested a return on this item a few days ago and have yet to hear back that it is authorized despite the fact it is within the return timeframe. Hoping the return doesn't cause as many headaches as the attempts at installing it! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful The Bad reviews are by Knuckleheads, This review is from: Sony SANS400 HomeShare Wi-Fi Network Speaker (Black) (Electronics) The SANS-400 functions perfectly as designed and described. Homeshare is not for the technically challenged, or for people who will not read manuals. You can't have done any research and said "DNLA crap". A Homeshare network is by definition based on DNLA. "Players" have to be DNLA certified. WIN7 is. iTunes is NOT. There are DNLA certified iPhone apps that WILL play your iTunes library...check it out. Plus, WMP will share your iTunes Library. |
