5.0 out of 5 stars A great deal. Must buy if you've never tried Fallout 3 before., October 13, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
This is the 3rd time I've tried Fallout 3, and I must say, the third time's a charm.

I didn't like this game the first or the second time, but granted I gave it only a couple of hours each time. I last bought this game in June, but returned it when I heard about the GOTY edition a few days later.

The GOTY does come with 2 discs, Disc One is the gameplay for Fallout 3, which looks virtually unchanged, except on the actual disc itself where it says "Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition". Besides that, there's little to no difference. Disc 2 has all the DLC, including the last installment; Mothership Zeta.

The instruction manual is a new one for GOTY, and instructs you to install disc 2 to your hard drive, before playing if you've never played Fallout 3, or do not have a current save file. However I didn't read it, and played about 3 hours of disc one before I noticed. I installed disc 2 (About 10 minutes, give or take), and everything was fine. I got the messages in-game letting me know that I have all 5 DLC's unlocked, that my level cap was raised to 30 etc.

After playing this game a good 10 hours, and not even completing half of the storyline, I feel like an idiot for not liking this game the first or second time. I think I was completly hooked when I saw the Washington Monument. It's just an amazing experience.

It gives you the option to choose what DLC you install. You don't have to install all 5, you can pick just one, or two, or all 5.

Here are the requirements.
Broken Steel = 620 MB
Mothership Zeta = 324 MB
Operation Anchorage = 369MB
Point Lookout = 413 MB
The Pitt = 492 MB

Total of 2.2 Gigs. (2218MB)

Go buy this now. If you haven't bought any of the DLC, go trade in your old Fallout 3 disc, and get the GOTY edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bethesda Strikes Again, October 15, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
In 2007, I purchased Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition) after finally jumping into this generations gaming systems. Close to 400 hours later, I decided that game was the best value for my money in terms of content, quality, and overall fun that I would ever play.

I was wrong.

My wife purchased me Fallout 3 in 2008 as an anniversary gift; she knew I'd played the original Fallout games and really enjoyed Oblivion with me, so it was a great gift. To say that I was stunned and enraptured with Fallout 3 would be an understatement; I've played this game with regularity for over a year. It is a huge, expansive, detailed, life-like world with so much to do and see that each time through you can find more and more surprises that you may have missed previously. Toss in all 5 DLCs at a mere , and this game is pushing 150 hours of game time just for one play through.

This is an incredibly involved game and isn't for everyone; its the kind of game that takes hold of your imagination and won't let go, so if you have the time to play a game of this depth, I recommend purchasing it immediately, its worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best "Game of the Year" value--maybe ever, October 13, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Fallout 3: Game of The Year Edition (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I played through Fallout 3 and beat it and reached level 20 back when it first came out. It was well worth my time then. I got hours and hours of fun gameplay out of it then.

I eventually auctioned it and got half my money back but I'll buy this version, and STILL feel like I'm getting a good deal. There's fifty-dollars worth of DLC included in this package. If you consider that, along with another 10 bucks for the standalone game, this might very well be the best video game deal since "The Orange Box." Compared to Oblivion, which only came with two expansions--and how about Left 4 Dead, which included the FREE DLC for their "GOTY" edition.

As for the game? It's stellar. I enjoyed it a lot more than Oblivion. I'm not a huge RPG fan but great action RPGs like this and Mass Effect are first rate. If you haven't played Fallout 3, you should get this copy. It's a one-of-a-kind experience.

I can read your mind! To play, think of something, anything, then answer a series of 20 questions. After the last question, your answer will appear. It really works! It's hours of fun as your try to stump 20 Questions. Your friends will watch in amazement as 20 Questions tries to guess what you're thinking. If it guesses within 20 questions, it wins. If not, you win! Can you stump the all-knowing artificial intelligence of 20 Questions? Requires 2 "AA" batteries (included). 5.0 out of 5 stars No Question - It's a Winner, September 22, 2004

This review is from: Radica 20Q Artificial Intelligence Game - Colors may vary since the item may come in 3 different colors (Toy)
Radica's 20Q is among the most amazing and enjoyable gadgets I've come across in quite a while. A handheld version of the website 20q.net (try q.20q.net if you have trouble getting online), this little doodad will ask you 20 questions to narrow down what you're thinking of (if its first guess is wrong it will ask another five questions and take a final stab at it). You can answer yes, no, sometimes, or unknown, and it pays to go with your first reaction to the question (Can it be used for recreation? No ... well I guess somebody could, but not usually and they really oughtn't ... so is that sometimes or unknown? Hmmmm). Its success rate is astounding. It's not hard to baffle it if you pick something totally obscure, but I've found it's more fun to lose to the machine than to win. Among the disparate things it's beat me on are: birthday cake, pirate, badger, oven, buffalo, carrot, fan, lion, key and flashlight.

I gave several as gifts before I picked up one for myself (you can only play with one in the store for so long before the clerks start glaring at you), and I expect Santa will be giving away a few this December. My 4-year-old son enjoys playing with 20Q, too - I read off the questions and help him think through the answers (he knew a lion was dangerous right off, we had to discuss whether they're brown or yellow).

My only complaint is that the animated "trash talking" gets old fast and there's no way to turn it off. The many pros of 20Q, however, far outweigh this minor con. The small buttons might be a problem for some people. You can control how fast the text scrolls across the screen (your only defense against the trash talking is to make it go by faster). Colors I've seen it available in are dark blue, red and orange; the plastic is transparent, so you can see the electronic brain inside (not that there are any flashing lights or electrical arcs to make it interesting).

If you're looking for a great gift for yourself or someone else, you can't go wrong with 20Q.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great to have on hand at parties, works like a charm!, December 8, 2004

We take this to nearly every party we attend, figuring it'll liven things up, if needed...and ti works like a charm everytime, sparking conversations and amazed laughter.

Lets face it - some parties rock, others are just plain dull. People click or they don't, the food is so-so...and you stand there, wondering WHEN you can poiitely leave. But with this toy, you have an automatic conversation starter and there are few people who don't want to try and stump it (most won't succeed). Lat time we used it at a rather staid gathering and before long, people were chattering away, hovering around this gizmo, offering suggestions, "Try this word"...etc.

Kids, of course, love it too...when they get a chance at it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just For Kids!, December 6, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Radica 20Q Artificial Intelligence Game - Colors may vary since the item may come in 3 different colors (Toy)
What an amazing little thing. When I realized I only paid .00 for the best toy under the tree, I felt a little foolish. It hasn't been stuffed into a stocking yet but has been played over and over again. Not by my 12 year old son who I bought it for but by my 17 year old daughter, her friends, and I must admit, by me. The biggest fascination for me is wondering how they do it. The questions asked don't seem to pertain to your item until the end when it guesses correctly. On 10 items, this baby guessed 9 correct in 20 questions and needed a few extra questions to guess the 10th. The bad part about this "toy" is I had to go out and buy more for some of the older kids on my list. Some being in their 20s I might add. It's just too much fun. It's so nice to see a 2006 Toy of The Year Award that actually earns the title and costs under .00. You just can't beat it!
